Learn how to play Christmas songs on the piano – howc.st Learn if you should take individual vitamins and a multivitamin in this vitamin supplements video from Howcast. Video transcript: Hi, I’m Molly Lee, and I’m founder and director of energizingnutrition.com, a holistic health and nutrition practice based in New York City. If you’re taking a multivitamin, it’s not a good idea to supplement with extra individual vitamins. High levels of any single nutrient can lead to overdose and toxicity in the body, especially with the fats soluble Vitamins A, D, and E. For example, a Vitamin A overdose can lead to dizziness, blurred vision, and headaches. A Vitamin D overdose can lead to nausea, fatigue, a loss of appetite, and kidney stones. And finally, a Vitamin E overdose can lead to hypertension, severe fatigue, and muscle weakness. Multivitamins can be supplemented by things like probiotics or fish oils, but not extra vitamins supplements. This way you can avoid a vitamin overdose and toxicity in your body. Remember that the definition of a supplement is something that completes or enhances something else. So, when taking vitamin supplements you should use it as that. As a supplement to real food, not as a quick fix or to replace it. Thanks for watching Vitamin Supplements: Should You Take Individual Vitamins and a Multivitamin?! Learn how to play Christmas songs on the piano – howc.st Learn about vitamin deficiency and mood effects in this vitamin supplements video from Howcast. Video transcript: Hi, I’m Molly Lee, and I’m founder and director of energizingnutrition.com, a holistic health and nutrition practice based in New York City. Some general symptoms of a vitamin deficiency include low energy, depression, irritability, brittle nails, your hair falling out, and also skin issues, such as rashes, acne, or eczema. Lacking any of these vitamins will definitely have a negative effect on your moods. For example, B vitamins are essential to the body’s brain and nerve functioning, so you definitely want to make sure you’re getting enough of these vitamins in order to feel mentally and physically balanced. Part of why many people are vitamin deficient is because they’re eating mostly processed, refined foods, which actually deplete the nutrients and vitamins from your body. I see a lot of my clients go on antidepressants without even looking at what they’re eating. Often by just including more fresh, healthy, nutrient-rich foods, they find that their energy increases and their moods will stabilize. Foods like caffeine and sugar are considered non nutritional forms of energy, and these non-nutritional forms of energy actually deplete the vitamins and nutrients from your body. So you want to make sure you’re getting enough vitamins and nutrients so you don’t experience the symptoms of vitamin …

Learn about the risks of vitamin overdose and potential vitamin side effects in this vitamin supplements video from Howcast. Video transcript: Hi, I’m Molly Lee, and I’m founder and director of energizingnutrition.com, a holistic health and nutrition practice based in New York City. A vitamin overdose can occur when you take too much of one particular vitamin in supplement form. The fat soluble vitamins, A, D, and E are the ones that you’re more at risk of overdosing on. This happens through high supplement intake and not dietary sources. So if you do take vitamin supplements make sure you don’t overdo it, because an overdose can be toxic. A vitamin A overdose can lead to blurred vision, dizziness, and headaches. A vitamin D overdose can lead to nausea, fatigue, a loss of appetite, and even kidney stones. And finally a vitamin E overdose can lead to hypertension, muscle weakness, and severe fatigue. The good news is you can recover easily from a vitamin overdose by simply reducing the dosage. And finally I want to remind you that the definition of a supplement is something that completes or enhances something when added to it. And that’s how you should view it, as a supplement to real, fresh, healthy food, not as a replacement or a quick fix. B-complex vitamins consist of a family of eight essential vitamins we need each day. B1 – Thiamin propels carbohydrate metabolism. It improves the mood, boosts heart function, improves heartburn and nerve function.
B2 – Riboflavin is essential for red blood cell formation, and metabolism of carbohydrates, fat and protein and carbohydrate metabolism. It helps clear up skin, and helps prevent cataracts and migraines.
B3 – Niacin lowers cholesterol. It also helps with arthritis, depression and insomnia, and improves the skin.
B5 – Pantothenic Acid boosts the central nervous system, energy production, and helps combat allergies, migraines, chronic fatigue, and heartburn.
B6 – Pyridoxine is essential in most of the body’s functions as a coenzyme for numerous other enzymes. It is an important vitamin responsible for forming red blood cells, neurotransmitters and proteins. It also helps to stabilize homocysteine levels. It’s taken as a supplement to treat asthma and PMS.

There are 21 essential and non-essential amino acids that have a useful function in our bodies, from providing energy to protecting against cardiovascular disease. When we eat proteins such as meat, dairy products, and legumes (beans, lentils, etc.), our bodies use these compenents as nutrients that provide energy to the body and also repair muscles, bones, tissues and cells. Amino acids also contribute to healthy skin, hair and nails.
Essential amino acids include: histidine, lysine, methionine, isoleucine, leucine, phenylalanine, threonine, trypophan (yes, what is found in turkey that makes you sleepy), and valine. These amino acids should be injested daily and can be found in foods such as wheat, lentils, soy, eggs, pork, poultry, beef and fish. The body makes the following amino acids on a daily basis. Nonessential amino acids include: alanine, arginine, asparagines, asparatic acid, cysteine, glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine, proline, serine, taurine, and tyrosine.
Eating protein on a daily basis is essential to a healthy diet, even if the protein comes from non-animal sources like lentils and soy. (Those with vegetarian and vegan diets can cause certain health problems if enough protein is not injested). Lack of protein is often to blame for an amino acid deficiency, although this condition can also be caused by stress, infection or injury, all of which require the body to use extra protein.. Certain medications and chemical imbalances also cause deficiencies. If you are experiencing symptoms such as fatigue, reduced metabolism and insomnia, you may have an amino acid deficiency.
If you don’t feel you are getting enough protein from your regular diet, you may want to consider taking an amino acid supplement, which can also be taken for the prevention of heart disease. The amino acid supplement you will need may vary depending on your symptoms. Talk to your doctor before taking any kinds of vitamins or supplements.

There is little doubt that vitamins, minerals, essential oils and fatty acids are especially important to maintain adequate health and wellness. These specific products have been in high demand since science has discovered that these compounds and materials were great for the body. Ever since then, there has never been a shortage of different nutritional vitamins, minerals and supplements. The real key to purchasing and taking these nutrients and supplements is finding effective products; which explains why everybody is turning to Pure Encapsulations, Garden of Life Vitamins, and New Chapter Vitamins.
So many mineral and vitamin products look good on the outside, but they are either weak when it comes to body and tissue absorption or they contain things that you may not wish to put into your body system. However, these specific vitamins and mineral supplements will pull no punches.
There is little doubt that people coming from all areas of life need certain minerals and vitamins that will help them in their day to day activities as well as promoting long term health and well-being. The issue is, not everyone has the ability to get these needed nutrients in their diet. For those people, Pure Encapsulations or Garden of Life Vitaminsare the most effective option.
Not only do these types of vitamins and nutrient supplements work effectively on your body, they meet some of the most finicky and discerning peoples taste. Many people are searching for all natural vitamins and supplements which are pure, without any fillers, binders or other suspect ingredients. In fact these vitamins are specifically manufactured for those who have sensitivity to additives.
The fact is that because of so many different vitamin and nutrient companies out there, providing what some might call less than effective products, people have gotten increasingly more concerned with the efficacy of the vitamins and minerals they are buying. That is why Pure Encapsulations stands above the others.
This mineral and vitamin company goes to great lengths to guarantee the quality nature of their products. Precisely what they do is only use the finest raw materials for their vitamins and minerals. However, they take this process one step further by rigorously testing each one of the compounds, mixtures and materials they will use in the production of their vitamins and nutrient supplements. Unless these materials pass the quality assurance testing, they can’t be used in the product they manufacture.
The Pure Encapsulations line of vitamins, minerals and supplements are the finest and most effective products you are going to find on the vitamin and supplement market today. So if you are interested in purchasing these products, you will have a few options.
These vitamins are sold on the internet and you can buy them from a number of different websites. The good thing about this is that you can shop around for not only the exact product you want, but you may also find plenty of options in terms of seeking the lowest price possible. That is exactly what shopping on multiple locations on the web can do for finding the right product at the right price.
Vitamins and supplements have changed the way people used to think; they now depend more on the consumption of supplements than the natural food. There was a time when all that was really available over the counter to people were supplements such as Vitamin C and Vitamin D. No matter how well a person eats, consuming extra supplements give them the satisfaction of staying healthy.
Some time back, the only thing available to people under the name of vitamins was vitamin D or C; such vitamins were only accessible through drug stores or pharmacies. Almost a decade ago, vitamin C and D were the only set of supplements that people were aware of; in fact, they were the only supplements readily available to anyone. There are big stores dedicated for the availability of all sorts of possible vitamins and supplements; this is precisely because of the huge market that came into existence over the time. One example of this is Pharmas in UK which has a giant section dedicated to providing you with every supplement imaginable. The fact is that many people love the idea of taking these extra pills every day because it makes them feel like they are making a conscious effort to stay healthy.
One health supplement that has been met with worldwide applause is Green tea extract. It is known for its propensity to speed up the metabolism process in a person; it is known to break down the fat in a person’s body without much of a workout. In other words, your body’s energy expenditure is greater than its energy intake. All these above mentioned qualities make green tea extract very desirable. Getting hold of this magic pill is as easy as a click, you can order it any time through internet. Green tea extract is like your everyday super-pill.
Glucosamine and chondroitin, another set of supplements that have gained people’s attention to a great extent. At first glucosamine and chondroitin were available separately but recent studies have shown that if taken together, their health benefits are more substantial. Studies have proved that taking glucosamine and chondroitin together makes a more significant affect on a person as opposed to taking them separately. The connective tissues can be repaired substantially through their intake, plus the human cartilage can also be restored to its original healthy condition by the continuous ingestion of glucosamine and chondroitin. Yes, for joints it works like a supernatural stick and you probably won’t find any better supplement for joints than this.
