In this video I just wanted to take some time to talk about vitamins as a good resource for growing out your hair. Vitamins give your body a number of health benefits: such as longer hair. Although vitamins can be found in foods: this video focuses on vitamin supplements like: Omega 3 Fish Oil, Biotin, and Folic Acid. Not just for natural, vitamins can help with hair growth regardless of the type of hair. I use a vitamin supplements brand called Spring Valley. They have decent prices and a variety of supplements. More than likely I’ll by this brand again for other vitamin supplements. Folic Acid: 800mcg, small tablet, metabolism support, B vitamin, promotes heart/nervous system health, and energy.

Prenatal Vitamins Are Important (April 27, 2011 )
Prenatal vitamins during pregnancy are very important. You need these vitamins pregnancy for you as well as for your baby.Obviously, when you’re carrying a baby, your body goes through a lot of changes. Ask your doctor’s recommendations before taking any supplements.
There usually vitamins that you will need that will be discussed here. To help in the development of the baby, you need folic acid. This is also for the prevention of any brain defects. Another vital nutrient is iron. This is to prevent anemia for the mother, and the blood will help carry the oxygen for the baby. Calcium is, of course, good for the bones and teeth. The baby uses a lot of the calcium intake of the mother because it is growing its own teeth and bones. The development of brain and eye functions are assisted by the Docosahexaenoic acid, or DHA.
It will be best if you take in supplements even if you can find decent vitamins and nutrients from most of the food that you eat. To make it work overtime, you can always do both. For example, drinking the proper amount of milk everyday should be part of your routine. To give you and the baby more energy, you should eat a lot of protein and carbohydrates. As much as possible try to include both in your meals, like chicken and pasta and then have fruits for dessert. You can get folic acid from tropical fruits and iron from fish and eggs.
At the same time, you should also try to avoid eating unhealthy Obviously, alcohol and caffeine should not be on the menu. During pregnancy, be super cautious of what you put in your mouth. When you prepare your food, make sure that you wash them carefully and cook them properly to avoid any food poisoning that can harm the embryo.
Certainly, you want only the best for the little one.
Keep in mind that you are not only eating for two but your vitamins are also for the both of you.

Using Folic Acid as a Supplement (January 5, 2009 )

As vitamins and supplements go, folic acid is a B vitamin that is known mainly for its ability to fight cardiovascular disease. Folic acid is found naturally in green leafy vegetables and legumes, but if you don’t eat enough of these, it’s a good idea to take folic acid as a supplement. If you don’t get enough folic acid in your diet, you may be unnecessarily risking the possibility of heart problems and other serious illnesses. Studies have proven that the right amount of folic acid in your blood stream can go a long way towards fighting cardiovascular disease, specifically the blocked arteries caused by having high levels of homocysteine in your blood stream.
If you never heard of homocysteine, you are not alone. This is a fairly newly discovered danger to the arteries in the head and neck, and is partially responsible for the blockage of these arteries. Homocysteine is a type of amino acid in the blood, which becomes oxidized and releases an excess of the vicious free radical called superoxide. Homocysteine is similar to cholesterol in the way that it begins to block blood vessels, which can trigger a heart attack or stroke. This danger can affect some 30 to 40% of older adults in the United States.
The good news is that deficiencies in folic acid are easy to fix. Just taking a folic acid supplement of 400 to 1,000 micrograms a day can help save someone with low folic acid levels form a heart attack. The right amount of folic acid can be found in an over-the-counter multivitamin. Along with vitamins B12 and B6, you have the perfect formula to help prevent heart attacks.
Folic acid supplements can also help block and reverse cancer, even after premalignant cells are found. This is because (read more…)
